Ever have one of those days when you wonder if what you do makes a difference?
Yeah, me too. When that happens, I sometimes pull out my client feedback, testimonials, and heartfelt letters of gratitude, but no more.
If I ever feel a bit discouraged again, I am totally going to read this fabulous Ode to a Marketing Coach written by my dear friend and client Mary Jane Weigel. Wow! Thanks and well done, MJ!
Ode to a Marketing Coach
I know a marketing coach,
whose reputation is beyond reproach.
One day in class, she said "Protect your ...!
Have several small clients instead of
one big one. In case, the big one quits,
you won't go into fits."
I listened to this and thought "Hmmm, this
could be me."
Life went on with my stable clientele until last evening,
when in a call about a check led to my "big client" stating,
"A new bookkeeper will begin on 1 Sept. (!)
(The reason is money; she'll be working for honey.)
This said, I took a deep breath, shaken to my depth,
but I found I wasn't panicked or sad.
I knew what to do and got out my pad. I received a report card
a short time ago; I worked on it then. My marketing is ready to go.
And so I end this little diddy to simply say I'm almost kiddy.
I say aloud "Thank you, Ronnie!" I'll make you proud.
I wouldn't be in this very good place without your record setting pace,
your kindness (with some blindness) to regroup, respond and recall the best saying of all
"Today's a great day for marketing!" to help me stand tall.
